Veterinary Staff and Services

Laurie Ward, DVM, will diagnose and treat your pet’s medical problem  to help restore and maintain a healthy state. Dr. Ward is a Colorado State University graduate. She practiced veterinary medicine in Arizona before relocating to Cortez in 1995. Dr. Ward, her husband Dale, and dogs Bella, Doctor House and Jack enjoy the people and landscapes of the Four-Corner’s Region.

Sharon  has worked in the veterinary field for 25 years; 16 of those at Cedarwood. She has had dogs, cats and horses most of her life. Her hobbies include gardening and soap making.

Liz joined the staff at Cedarwood in 2010. Prior to that she worked in real estate for 15 years, but always enjoyed being around animals. She is great at assisting clients’ and pets’ needs.

Examination and Preventative Care

Puppies and kittens, adult cats and dogs, pocket pets, reptiles or birds: the staff at Cedarwood can help you with your pet examinations, vaccinations, heartworm testing or health certificates for travel.

We employ bribes in the form of lavish affection and tasty treats to make these exams enjoyable for everyone.

Medical  and Diagnostic Services

Everyone gets sick now and then. At Cedarwood Animal Clinic we will do all in our power to help nurse your sick pet back to health.

From the extensive physical exam through diagnostic testing, xray, treatment, hospitalization and discharge, we will treat your pet with respect and care

Surgical and Dental Services

Soft-tissue surgery, tooth cleaning and extraction are performed by Dr. Ward. Orthopedic (bone) surgeries are performed in hospital by a traveling surgeon.
